About us

Our journey started with a simple observation. Contemporary farming methods are no longer sustainable; economically, environmentally or ethically.

In response, Red Tail was established to support farmers in transitioning away from conventional livestock farming towards more sustainable, ethical and profitable alternatives. By doing so, we aim to secure their livelihoods while supporting a healthier food system and environment.

Our philosophy

Food is more than sustenance — it’s a relationship. Between people and place, culture and ecology, memory and imagination. We’re not here to “disrupt” farming, but to reimagine it with the people who know the land best. We see cultivated meat not as a replacement for farming, but as a new ingredient in the recipe for rural renewal and ecological restoration. Our approach is rooted in care — for the land, for the people who work it and for the communities who gather around good food.

Our values

We value collaboration over disruption, working hand-in-hand with farmers, not around them. Regeneration is at the heart of what we do — not just in terms of ecosystems, but in how we treat people and communities. We approach our work with honesty and humility, acknowledging the complexity of change. Culture matters to us: food should nourish the senses as well as the soil, so we embrace artistry, storytelling and creativity as vital tools. Above all, we believe in the power of place — every part of Red Tail is shaped by the specific people and landscapes that make it possible.

Our ambition

Our ambition is to build a future where meat can be made without harm — and where the people most often excluded from food system innovation are placed at the centre. Through a decentralised model of cultivated meat production, we support farmers to lead the alternative protein transition in ways that regenerate land, preserve culture and create delicious, meaningful food.
